Setting up the Launcher
In this section you will configure FFXI to connect to the Private ServerYou can use Ashita, Windower, xiloader, or DSPlaucher (works with Windower and xiloader) to connect to the Private Server.
Windower
1.) Download Windower
2.) Create a folder in a convenient location and extract the archive(the .zip file) into it.
3.) Run Windower.exe and it will automatically download all the needed files.
4.) Afterwards, you need to get xiloader and put it in your FFXI install directory alongside pol.exe (SquareEnix/PlayOnlineViewer).
5.) Open Windower and create a profile. After you create it, close Windower, and open your start menu, type notepad. right-click on it and run it as Admin. Copy and paste the below into notepad and File > Save As name it settings.xml be sure to change the drop down below the name to All Files and not Text file. Save this inside your windower folder and replace the current settings.xml with it.

After you are done editing your profile, save the settings.xml file, launch windower, and running your profile should connect you to your target server. HAVE FUN!!
does it say missing MSVCP140.dll? you likely need C++ redistribution downloaded

grab the x86 one it should work, if not get the x64
